3. Description of the project.

This topic “Thinking or acting green” implies the idea of enlightening the students’ attitude towards the ecological awareness. Students will be enabled to reconsider their own attitudes and behaviour towards the environmental actions taken in school, homes, local communities and the whole world. Concerns about immediate surroundings (here ‘school’) but also local responsibilities towards nature and environment will be established by different projects. Our aim is to develop an international network, which expands over the time range given, to establish an endurable connection between young people in Europe. The life-long learning connected to the European thought will be improved by this project work. We would also like to involve the schools of the former Comenius project in which the German partner has been involved. In consequences, the comparison with other students in their countries should set the new impulse on the thought “we live in one world”. The recognition of the similar problems or tasks on demand may help to develop new connections and friendships among young European students. This will improve their understanding of the responsibilities as global citizens.

4. Objectives

We want to establish a base of understanding and tolerance among European students, so that in future we can set up competitions like sport events or cultural activities. In this project we want to make students more aware of their eco-behaviour i.e. travelling to and from school and the mobility around the world. This awareness can be reached by comparing their experience to other European students.

This can be reached by:

–           developing a questionnaire and evaluating it

–           making statistics charts

–           developing rules and hints on “how to act…” (e.g. brochure)

–           doing community projects

–           producing art works on the selected eco-topics
